Will Still showed his feisty side during a mid-game confrontation with Monaco boss Adi Hutter.

The Lens manager watched on as his side salvaged a last-gasp 1-1 draw at the Stade Louis II, preserving his unbeaten start to the season.

The English tactician was visibly ecstatic when Przemyslaw Frankowski converted a penalty in added time, after former Chelsea star Denis Zakaria had given the hosts the lead.

Still, who regularly shows his emotions on the touchline, appeared to get into a verbal scuffle with Hutter in the closing stages and with the score still goalless.

Footage from Ligue 1’s primary state broadcaster DAZN, showed the 31-year-old accusing Hutter of having dialogue with his players, something he quickly took exception to.

“Shut up, sit down,” Still told the German. “Don’t talk to our players, you focus on your players, don’t talk to mine.”

Hutter appeared to gesture back to Still however his words were not picked up by the broadcaster.

A flushed looking Still was able to turn his attention back to the match but showed he had no problem in going head-to-head with opposition manager’s in defence of his players.

And it's fair to say the incident has gone down well with Lens fans who have been quietly impressed with Still’s start to life at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Lens lost just one of their eight pre-season friendlies including a comprehensive 3-0 thrashing of Leicester City and a 2-2 draw against Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Wins over Angers and Brest kicked off the Ligue 1 season in style followed by Sunday’s well-earned point in the principality.

The only blip for Still was Lens’ devastating UEFA Conference League play-off defeat to Panthinaikos on Thursday, meaning Lens will not compete in Europe this season.

Still left fellow French top-flight side Stade de Reims by mutual consent in May with the club 11th in the table and was heavily linked with the vacant managerial roles at Norwich and Sunderland.

He decided to remain in Ligue 1 with his move to Lens taking many by surprise.

The move feels like the most logical step up for Still with European qualification an expectation placed heavily on his shoulders.

The Englishman became an overnight sensation when he was handed the reins at Reims despite not having a UEFA Pro Licence at the time.

It resulted in Reims having to fork out €25,000 for every match he took charge of until he began working towards his qualification.

Still gained popularity among football fans for his love of the Football Manager game which fuelled his belief he could become a successful professional manager.
